Summer may nearly be behind us but, fear not, September has pulled through with some amazing events all over the city to keep your summer spirit alive!

 

We have hand picked what we think are three of the most exciting events going on over the next month. Make sure to visit the The Literary Hour for a bite to eat, The Big London Bake for some cake compeition and then onto London Mezcal Week for some traditonal Mexican Culture and make sure you pop into the Jack Daniel’s Tennessee-Inspired Pop-Up for a whiskey cocktail enjoyed the way it should be…

Have you been glued to the TV since The Great British Bake Off has been back on our screens? Do you fancy yourself as the next star baker? The Big London Bake provides you with the famous marquee, your very own station, all the ingredients and best of all there is no experience required. Take a friend, take your mum or even take a date. You have 90 minutes to battle it out with other contestants and then a winner is announced!

London Mezcal Week

The festival takes place over the 16th with London’s best Mexican food from Bad Sports and Temper, a pop-up Mezcal bar serving delicious custom designed cocktails, art workshops, DJs and more. There are also events all over the city during the week, from mezcal and tequila food pairings, panel debates to three-course Mexican inspired dinners, London Mezcal Week has got an event for lovers of all things Mexican. Tickets start as low as £5, which is cheaper than having a glass of wine out, and you will come away educated and would have tried something a little different.

London Mezcal Week is a platform for all kinds of people to explore the culture of traditional Mezcal production, as well as taking a closer look at Mexican art, film, and food.

Jack Daniels Pop-Up

Whiskey brand Jack Daniel’s is hosting a Tennessee-inspired pop-up next month, creating a southern America experience in east London. It will be an evening of whiskey based cocktails, live music, and delicious food! To get your hands on a ticket all you have to do is head over to the cocktail bar, Zelman Meats or Mother Clucker and purchase a Jack Daniel’s drink. You will then be handed a postcard to fill out your details and post into a Tennessee style mailbox.
