Either get those parts chromed or buy stainless parts - or do a very regular wipe-down with oil if you insist on having bare steel parts for whatever reason. Find a small (and very hard wood, I use Ipe) piece of flat wood you can cut and wrap the sand paper around. My piece is 1/4 thick, 2" tall and 1" wide. Go back and forth in the SAME direction with the 400 to remove the scratch (es).

I did the trigger on my 34 using the 3.5 connector and a 6 lb trigger spring along with the .25 cent trigger job it is lighter and smooth.
